Web 2.0
It is about creating new interactive sides. A technique that is often mentioned in connection with "Web 2.0" is "Ajax" (Asynchronous Javascript And XML). It means new navigational opportunities in the form of a richer user experience, technically increased performance and new opportunities for design. The technique is especially valuable when it applies to booking dialogues, which can simply be made easier, faster and more user-friendly.
.NET (3.0) och web services
Web services and other XML-based solutions have since the early 21st century been the dominating procedure for exchanging information between different systems. When these solutions arrived the focus was on technical simplicity with web services – a technique that normally uses XML and http – something that has however changed somewhat. At the end of 2006 Microsoft launched its latest version of .NET (3.0), which, among other things, includes a completely new architecture for communication. This is called WCF – Windows Communication Foundation, and, as the name reveals, it is about communication with a focus on exchange of services. In simple terms it is about using the communication channel and the format which is most suited for both the client and the service. You are no longer so limited in attaching your application to a certain type of communication channel or format, which gives you enhanced performance, increased security and more flexibility.
